  1. The Aye-Aye is cool and endangered (props for who mentioned it earlier), Snowy Leopard, Siberian tigers (love them!), Leopard Frogs, Ocelots or Margays are all good choices.

    Good luck.

  2. Spiders, snakes. scorpions, red ants, frogs, not all. Flies not all.

  3. Do the project on Bats, which are endangered. You could also talk about how we should protect them, because since 70% of the bat population eats exclusively insects, (Including mosquitoes) They help keep down desease and increase human comfort, there are many sites on bats also. (see "source list")

  4. The snowy owl or there is a blue butterfly. Also, the aye-aye is very original.

  5. dear,

pls do it on human being.

its very hard to find a true humane being.

  6. the population of frogs is depleeting...

I did a report on that, got 100%

if you want to get more specific, get a specific species of frog

(i would pic some tipe of tree frog, they are the cutest, and most endangered.)

  7. I feel that the best one is doing a project on Panda.Bcoz it's the cutest animal and besides you can get loads of picture and information about it.

  8. Butterfly and Sparrow. You may include way to love animals and birds and of course humans too! in your project. Nature will definitely bliss you.

  13. mom and dad

  14. How about the species of humans who used to do their own research and homework.....

  15. The best suited spiecies will be Podas, Siberian tiger, Asiatic Lion, Elephants(boh asian and African) Rhinoes, and Giant Squirrals.

  16. according worldwildlife (WWF)

the American crocodile is listed on the Endangered Species List and two of its biggest threats are habitat destruction and drowning in fishing gear

also gray wolf also  endangered although it's gradually being returned to its natural Southwestern desert habitat

polar bear "if present trends continue, this ";king of the great white north"--which lives on the shores of the Bering Sea--could be extinct by the end of this century"

"the black-footed ferret, found only in the Great Plains, is the one of the most endangered mammals in North America because its principal prey, the prairie dog, has been reduced to 2 percent of its original abundance"

"Often called a buffalo, the bison is the largest land mammal in the Americas. An icon of the plains, bison occupy only 0.1 percent of their former range"

maybe polar bear? we're not quite sure of its future anyway, b/c of global warming

  17. Honest politicians

  18. royal bengal tiger

  19. I think you should do a project on any bird that lives in the Amazon Rainforest, because its tress are being cut down, which are where most bird live. Go to the website in the sources list.

  20. polar bears,  we are losing them do to the ice  melting .

  21. what about a study on Elephants? the biggest mammals on earth :)

  22. i would suggest a species which is not yet endangered but would be in the near future . Unlike other species the cause for it's depletion would be itself .this species is placed under Genus-Homeo and species-sapiens it is commonly called human being or man

  23. An idea that you may not have thought of before is looking at extinction of a species in the context of an entire ecosystem, i.e. just like your car wouldn't work right if you removed the spark plugs or the driveshaft.  Similarly an entire ecosystem will be affected by the loss of one species.  If one species dies, it is likely others will die as well, unless they can adapt to the change.

An example would be the flying squirrel in Nova Scotia.  It is one part of an ecosystem that includes trees, insects, and even a fungus in the soil (like truffles).

"The Southern Nova Scotia Biosphere Preserve is the second UNESCO-recognized site in Nova Scotia, the first being the World Heritage Site of Lunenburg. A Biosphere Preserve is recognized as being one of the world's most important nature areas. The Biosphere, which comprises lands in the counties of Annapolis, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, and Queens,  is home to many nationally endangered plants and animals including Atlantic Coastal Plain flora, Southern flying squirrel, and Blanding's turtle. it is the largest protected wilderness area in Atlantic Canada, and one of the largest on the east coast of North America. The Biosphere preserve includes the Tobeatic Wilderness Area and Kejimikujik National Park. There are few public access points, one of the only ones being in East Kemptville, Yarmouth County. The Biosphere also includes a national Heritage River, the Shelburne River."

    ---------------

They did a similar episode on the Magic School Bus about the flies, the pigs, the mud and the cocoa beans in South America.  You've probably seen that epsiode already so its a good example.  So it's been thought of before, but I bet no one else in your class thought of it!

There are a lot of big scientific words in the source link, but it's the best I could find to explain it.

  24. Go to wwf.org, they have lists of endangered species and a lot of info on it. I had the same type of project. I also used Wikipedia.com to help me get more info.

  25. You should be looking for the species that is endangered and can be found close to where you are living. That will enable you easier access and maybe more familiarity on the areas, etc.

Every species of endangered animals has their individual uniqueness. And creating a project out of a subject that intrigue you will fuel more passion in your work, than to take on others suggestion .
