  1. Ask yourself what it is that you are afraid of.  Then address that fear.

For example, if you are afraid of not being heard by everyone, practice projecting your voice so that it will reach the back of the room.

If you are afraid you will be unprepared, then you should be sure you are fully prepared and ready when the time comes.

For some, it helps to have notes from which to refer at times during the speech.

  2. It looks like your speech is right here. Now expand the title to be about the different kinds of people who have to make a speech. Once you are the one who knows about the subject, the speech is just talking.

  3. When you approack the lecturn or podium stand there and slowly look at every one.  Wait until they are quiet.  You assume control that way.  Then  remember that a speech is not an essay standing on its hind legs so do not try to read it.  Then do this  1> Tell them what you are going to tell them...2> Tell them and 3> Tell them what you told them.

If they get rowdy.  Stop and do nothing until they get quiet again.  Control, control

  4. pick a spot on the wall and look at it and pretend your talking with someone whom makes you fell good.

  5. U-Tube has some hypnosis videos on public speaking.  Give it a try.  It may surprise you.

  6. OK girl... or guy (lol), I have been struggling all my life with confidence in speech-making. But I've been improving up to now. You just get up there and show em who's boss, and just KNOW in your mind that you are more mature than these idiots (that's right, think of them as idiots), and that it is you they should be intimidated by. Also just focus on giving the actual information, not on how you should give it or how you should appear. If you start feeling nervous, take a deep breath, focus on the information you're giving and start speaking again.

I hope your speech goes well. -crosses fingers for you- You'll be fine :)
