  1. I can help you for sure...I own and operate a daycare centre (100 children, 28 staff) feel free to e-mail me directly for ideas, story lines, prop ideas etc. I need to know more...is this for school? What level? High school, college, university or drama of some sort?

Your play needs a solid story line....this ece worker....how old are her own children? can she bring them to work? ok...I'm excited now...here are some ideas or thoughts to consider....

    * ece workers work extremele hard with not very high pay so your character should be struggling somewhat financially

    * ece staff WITH their own children sometimes find it hard/ironic to be spending the day with OTHER peoples children

    * it's hard for single parents to be in the field b/c of the hours so your character should be stressed and rushing around

    * your character should be tough on the inside and sweet and loving on the exteriour

    * early childhood educators plan their own programs and often have cut outs to do so one scene should be her rushing around with (10-15) maybe snowmen cut outs in one hand, trying to hold her child in another and talking on her cell phone explaining to her boss/co-worker that she's on her way and will be running late

    * maybe your story line should be about the ece worker trying to convince her boss to allow her child to attend the daycare she's working in (some don't allow it b/c it's a conflict of interest)

I know we're just scratching the surface...is this what you're looking for? I need more details about which direction you want to take your storyline. I hope this got your creative juices flowing...e-mail me directly for more ideas/questions!

    Good luck and happy holidays!!!

  2. maybe you can play the mother and have someone else play the child. Show the mother trying to get ready for work and the child is running around getting into everything. like cereal trying to make their own breakfast and then maybe moms makeup cause mom has it laying out while she gets ready for work. or if its a little girl she wants to dress in Mommy's clothes and have them ride in the car and the little one sings kids songs like old McDonald and then have the mom drop the child off at daycare but the hild doesn't want to stay so the child clings to the mother leg.

    i hope i helped you !!
