She's only 13 years old. What other jobs besides guestbook attendant are there?

  1. Junior Bridemaid!

She can be your little helper the day of!

I like the ideal of the camera, letting her walk around the church and take Pictures of the guest!

  2. You could get her a corsage and let her be a floating hostess at the reception.  She would take the guests plates and cups to the kitchen or trash.  She would get plates of food and drinnks for the older people who need to sit.

  3. My sister had two mature women as "flower women".  They came up the aisle with armsful of carnations and handed them out to those in the congregation.

That might be something really cool for a 13 year old girl to do.  Different and fun.  Not kid-like but not overly 'official' either.  You can call her the Flower Bearer.

  4. i have 4 girls that are between the ages 15 and 11 that arent going to be bridesmaids, tha are also going to be in the wedding. its an outdoor wedding so it will have alot of ways for guest to walk in, so im having one be in charge of the Gift table..one in charge of the guestbook..one in charge of handing out the programs(standing at the aisle..while people make their way to their seats) and one handing out mini-bottle of waters(standing at the aisle..while people are walking to their seat)..its a june wedding.. outdoors.. itll be hott.    so theres a few ideas hope they help.

umm just wondering.. whos sunday or whoever people are complaining about?

  5. Get a polaroid camera and have her take pica of guests to put in a album

  6. there's no such thing as guestbook attendant, even if you appoint someone to do that it never actually gets done.  guestbooks are stupid anyway, why do you want a book with people's names in it that you'll never use again?  have her do a reading during the ceremony or give the blessing before dinner

  7. What about having her walk with the flower girls or be a special ring bearer or light the candles at the beginning of the ceremony or put them out at the end?

  8. you could always ask her how she might like to be incl.

  9. when we were 12, my cousin and i were junior bridesmaids in my aunt's wedding. we didn't go to the bachelorette party or anything, but we stood in her wedding. there wasn't much to it, but we were still a part of the wedding.

  10. Stop being selfish and just let her serve.

  11. Sunday, sweetie, you have issues..if you want to vent maybe you should do it in another section other than weddings.  This poor bride obviously is concerned and needs advice, I am sure she has a thousand other things going on in her mind..she does not need someone like you to make her feel like c**p.

    To the bride-to-be:

I would have her stand up as a Jr. Bridesmaid, she is the perfect age.  Its ok for her to not have an escort.  I honestly cannot think of another position withing the bridal party for her.  Good luck and congrats!

  12. Usher? Female ring bearer? Train carrier? flower girl? What positions don't you have filled? how big is the wedding? heck these days you can make up a position!

  13. Sunday - you are a dumbass! Positions in a bridal party are not meant to be handed out to random family members just because. They are meant for the people the bride and groom want to 'honour' in some way. Whether it is a bestfriend or a sister who has been there through thick and thin.

I know personally, I would not be happy including a 13 year old in my bridal party (wedding is in 10 weeks). First of, I do not have any pageboys or flower girls and all my bridesmaids are in their mid 20s.

BUT I have included some younger cousins by having them do some readings at the church (if your going a civil ceremony maybe get her to read a poem before the ceremony).

I also liked the idea of getting her to take photos - this keeps her occupied for a significant period of time and you can always heap praise on her once the photos are printed.

In the end, remember it is your day so do what makes you happy.

  14. Handing out programs

    Reader

    Guest Book Attendant

    Greater

You can have her be your "personal attendant" before the wedding she can be in the room with you and the bridesmaids, have her pass notes between you and your husbannd, grab waters for you and the bridesmaids, check the time ect ect ect

  15. You truly are selfish and a dimwit. I pity your husband to be. This is not a problem. Having a loved one in Iraq fighting an illegal war...THAT'S A PROBLEM! People living in poverty with no opportunity...THAT'S A PROBLEM! Being crippled and losing your job...you guessed it, PROBLEM! You make me sick. Can't find a way to make a 13 yr old girl to feel needed and important, at your wedding. Shame on you!

  16. Reader in church

  17. Have you considered a junior bride/flower girl combo?

    Just a thought...................
