  1. Space and money an issue, it seems that a bunk bed and extra twin bed would work. Place at the corner of the room with the head of the bunk bed hitting the wall and the twin on the other 45 degree angle. Set aside the rest of the room for dressers and a desk or two. Paint each girls "drawer"(s) a certain color of her choice to match bedding. Their participation is key to keeping the room "theirs". Good luck - you have your hands full! LT

  2. Try having a talk with them first, you could let them decorate it the way they want all together, and each girl have a wall they would to do and maybe the fourth wall they could all do together, make it sound exciting that they are going to turn this room into their "own little place", make sure they know the condition is respecting everyones space.

If your not up for redecorating maybe reward them each time they have lasted the week with out fighting.

  3. You could get a  bunk bed set for the twins that has a pull out trundle bed below the lower bunk for the 7 year old. That will free up an enormous amount of floor space for desks, etc. They can be expensive so if you already have mattresses for the 3 boys, you might hit up a friend to make you a simple wood bunk bed with a frame for the 7 year old's mattress to fit underneath. If they put casters on the bottom of the trundle and a handle on the frame, then  you can easily roll it under the bottom bunk and  pull it out for sleeping.

I would get one long narrow table for the twins and use it against the wall as a desk for both of them. That way, they could each have their own areas of the top of it. Then I would get a small corner desk for the 7 year old so he could feel like a big boy, too. Use brackets for shelving above the long desk to put books etc. and keep them off the floor. A metal closet organizer will probably be a good investment, too.

If you paint the room a medium blue (most boy's favorite color), then they could use the removeable wall decals to add their own flavor to the room. Once they choose the decals, then you could get bedding that would tie in with them and the blue walls.

    Good luck!! : )

  4. Depends on the size of room.

I would suggest bunk beds and a twin.....under bed storage drawers/containers. How large is the closet space?

You may need to add a clothing bar or some shelving.

You can always check out the thrift stores and clearance sections.

Decorating can be easy...what kind of bedding do the girls currently have? Maybe duvet covers . Can you add a coordinating color with pillows, wall hangings, bulletin boards, curtains...pull it all together with the wall color and maybe a throw rug.

  5. Do you have anyone who's a good carpenter? If so, you can have off set bunk beds and have each one have their own section. I know some places like Crate and Barrel had them. Try squeezing 7 plus 2 adults into 5 bedrooms. The young ones were always glad when the older ones moved out! Now that we're down to one, at home it's like a cavern! I haven't had my own bedroom since I was 21!

Everything else I looked at was thru the roof.

  6. Put the walls in a neutral color and let them each pick out stuff to decorate their beds, blankets, pillows etc so they each have their own little space they had a say in how it looks.
