I have to remove shower k***s. Does the center s***w unscrew clockwise or counter; should the water be off?

If you are just removing the k***s the water does not have to be off.  The center s***w unscrews counterclockwise.

Center s***w unscrews counter-clockwise.

The water can remain on until you want to take out the cartridges.

The s***w turns counter clockwise. Just remember this for ALL screws left=loose  & right =tight. Make sure the H2O  is off  as the s***w may be a little  tight  and  you might turn on the water  while trying to change out the k***s ( preferred for the shower;  not as important to turn off water if it is sink k***s.)
