  1. just run everday. trust me it really shouldnt be that hard especially if you practice and run everyday!

    hope i helped

and make sure your not drinking a lot of water while your running because it will give you cramps!! just take a break drink some and then start back

  2. A mile and a half is 6 laps on a 400 meter (standard size) track. To do this in under 12 minutes, each one of those laps would have to be done in under 2:00. Try to run a lap in over 2:00 minutes, it would take a special type of non-athlete to do that. Generally without any running training at all you should be able to do one lap in a maximum of 85 seconds. At this pace it will take you 8:30:00 to run a mile and a half. Honestly, this is highly doable. I suggest you go to a track and start pacing yourself at 85 seconds. Do one lap and rest, then do two laps and rest, then do three laps and rest...and so on, and so on. A week after this process run the full mile and a half timing yourself. I think you'll find after this regiment you'll have no anxiety of running 1.5 miles in under 12:00:00

  3. sorry levi, but 1.5 miles in 12 minutes DOES NOT equal 5 miles an hour. if the OP was to run 1 mile in 12, then yes. 8 minute pace for a mile is not too bad with a little bit of training. 8 min mile is 7.5 miles an hour.

  4. Your mum should be able to do that

  5. You need to run 8 minute miles to do this, or 7 1/2 mph.

You need to go out running to be able to do this. Try some of these things:

Measure in a car, or on a map a 1 1/2 mile route (the test won't be on a track, maybe roads, most likely to be on grass). Just run round this and see how quickly you can do it in.

Next measure a 4 mile route to run round for most of your training. Run round this route 2 or 3 times a week - this gets your stamina. Then every so often run your 1 1/2 mile route as a time trial to see how you are doing.

Another training session you can do is to find a hilly section of road and run along that, either run hard up the hills or hard down them (up makes leg muscles, down makes fast feet)

Try Fartlek training - jog for a bit then sprint for a bit, then jog etc....

Also work your leg muscles a bit, these will support your knees and prevent problems later/

    Hope that helps

  6. Break it down to time 1 1/2 miles is 8 minute miles go down to an athletic track run say 800 Mt's approx 1/2 a mile in your allotted time then work from there to your mile then your mile and a half but do your training at the speed you need to run

GO my son job done (look on it as a project)

  7. You could almost walk 1.5miles in 12mins!!! If you average a jog of about 5mph (slow) u will breeze it... to make it in 12mins u only need to average 3.116r mph lol?

  8. its not that hard

    actually, its easy

you just keep running one mile each day

    (which isnt hard)

    until you reach your goal!

    its easy

    trust me

  9. Its not, you have time for a coffee and a f*g in that time!

  10. well you also want to know if the course is uphill or on a track or treadmill. thats where you will want to train. if you cant find out then just find a couple different routes that are about 2 miles around your neighborhood. then as it gets closer to january start running 1.5 instead of 2 to see what time you are looking at. it should be pretty easy because you only have ot run about a 8 minute mile.

  11. it's kind of stretching it a bit to say that an injured elderly lady could do it, but if you're young and healthy, it should be no problem.

    good luck :)

  12. Don't sweat this test.

An injured elderly woman could complete 1.5 in 12.

  13. For some it may be difficult but to most very easy. Considering you are trying to be in the navy I am going to assume that you are in decent shape it should be no problem at all for you. Good Luck hopw you nail it.

  14. Put your running shoes on and go running,Wear a watch as well.An average person walks at 4  miles per hour,So running  for 12 minutes  should not be difficult.

  15. go running every day, until you the day you have to do it

  16. just pound the pavement a little every day and you'll get better. make sure you are drinking enough water and doing some strength training in between. eat some protein and good carbs about 45 minutes before you go running, like a turkey sandwhich. Be sure to stretch and warm up before you run and cool down after wards

  17. i can run 3km in 14 minutes im sure you can do it just as long as your not obese or something, just like the others said, run everyday, is this really what you want to do though, join this where they'll accept any one who can run but may have the brain of a peanut, you can do it, just make sure it's what you want to do, do you have more potential than this?

  18. Work on cardio, cardio, & more cardio!

Exercise every day and lose weight.

  19. thats very easy, surely there are other tests to pass before they let you join up?
