I have to run 3 miles on the track tomorrow! ?

I have to run 12 laps, or three miles on the track tomorrow. Can I wear spikes for this? The spikes I have are for xc but they aren't that big. I have to make it under 28 minutes to make it on the xc team. Does anyone have any advice? I'm doing it right after school. And I'm slow. My best time is 32 minutes.

  1. Sorry, if you want to use shoes with spikes to run 3 miles, then you're crazy.  


  2. Usually spikes aren't recommended for a 3 mile run on a track.

    Your feet will thank you if you wear your regular running shoes.

    Spikes are best utilized for sprints.

    I suppose if you wore spikes for a 1/4 or 1/2 run you will see some benefit, but not a 3 mile run.

    1.- Don't wear spikes

    2.- Wear regular comfortable running shoes

    3.- Drink a lot of water the day before (Hydrate yourself)

    4.- The day of the run, "RELAX"

    5.  Prepare mentally " I CAN DO IT"

    6.- Run "YOU CAN DO IT"

    I think it will be fun to run it in 28 minutes, but if you have never done it will be hard!

    Try it but if you don't do it YOU CAN DO IT THE NEXT TIME


  4. There are long distance spikes that are made for the track.  You can also just change out the spikes that you have for grass and get shorter 1/4 inch pyramid spikes.  Good luck!
