I haven't been able to actually run for awhile because I got my wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago and now I'm sick, plus procrastination. Anyway, I've been athletic my whole life; i just need to get fit again. Ultimately I'm just wondering what I can do within the next 7 days to get the best time I possibly can (how often to run, how far, etc). Thanks to everyone!

ps: I know you can't actually get fit within a week and I should have been training for a long time. I'm just looking on get the best out of 7 days

  1. I jsut recently got my wisdom teeth pulled out, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I have always been athletic my whole life, but i haven't exercised for about half a year, now I am slowly gaining up there again, slowly. You should probably run about two times a day, except for Sunday, thats your break day. Probably one time in teh morning and one time in the evening, run more in the morning probably 4-5 miles or 5-6 miles if you can handle it, and in the evening will be recovery, by running 2-3 miles, or 3-4 miles if your feeling good. After do exercises like running stairs with weights and such on ur legs and arms, ab workouts, and sprints and such. Then when you run next week, w/o weights, you will feel lighter and faster. Eat a lot of fruits, veggies, and carbs, this will help as well, also drink a lot of water everyday and stay hydrated, also running with a friend will be funner, faster, and better. Good Luck! You can do it! :)

  2. well if i was in your position i would run around 2 or 3 miles every day at a very slow pace.  doing this will get your body used to running long distances.  and then when you have to run your timed mile your body will be able to run much more then just a mile because it is so used to running a longer distance.

also hydrate yourself. drink plenty of water, and only one gatorade a day. gatorade is only good for keeping your salt and water levels regulated so your body can work properly.

thats all the advice i got for ya, hope this helps, and i would love to hear what u ended up getting on these timed miles, i get around a 615 when i run one
