I know its probably stupid but I have never had any sort of procedure done. I know its not a huge procedure but I am really scared.Ive never been good with needles or hospitals and I've also never been under anesthetic before. Can anyone tell me what it was like to have their tonsils out? What can I expect?

  1. i got mine out when i was seven. it's not a big deal. i wasn't in any pain after that i can remember. and if i can't remember it can't be that bad haha. but on the plus side you get a lot of ice cream and you can stay home from school or work depending on how old you are haha.

  2. For an adult having your tonsils out can be rather painful.  It took me two weeks to be able to return to work and another week before I could eat normally.  You'll need to have someone there the first 1-5 days to take care of you since you'll hardly be able to get out of bed.  Be prepared with cold foods and tons of ice!  Good luck :<

  3. the procedure is not bad at all, after pre op its a breeze. once they start anesthetics you will fall asleep almost amedietly and wake up in recovery. the only bad thing is that after you will be in alot of pain. I just had mine removed today and my uvula is really swollen so it is kind of hard to breath, just eat cold thing
