I have to ship a record to Norway. How do I have to ship it?

I have the record packaged in a card board box for protection. With the packaging it's about 13x13 in. and weighs 19 oz. I'm using USPS. Can I put the shipping label directly on the cardboard box or do I have to put the record in a special USPS box or envelope and then put the shipping label on that?

You can put the label right on the box.  If the box is 13x13, you shouldn't have a problem fitting the label onto it, since the plastic sleeve that holds it is only 7x12 in.

The only times you'd need to put it in a special USPS box is if you wanted to send it by flat-rate mail, where you can ship things in a special box and be charged a fixed amount (regardless of weight).  However, since the package only weighs 19oz, you won't save any money doing that.
