  1. Do a project about aerodynamics in the water. Which objects a person wears create drag, and what is the best kind of thing to wear. Do something along these lines. besides that there really isnt anything else.

  2. I have a friend that did the different types of swim suits and the effect that chlorine has on them. She wore a nylon suit one day at practice, then a polyester suit the next day, then a lycra suit the thrid day and measured how much it strached after each use and how much it appeared to be faded. (She did it for science fair, it took her a while to actually execute the project).

  3. I would do something with comparing pool depths and speed.  Look at your local pools configuration (average depth, max depth, min depth etc) and compare the pool records.  You can also pull more data from college websites.

You could also do something on pool disinfection routines (see the source)

  4. You could do some research into the new Speedo LZR costumes that are causing a bit of a stir at the moment, there have been some claims that they help swimmers TOO much.
