  1. Yeah, it's not rocket science, do what they say, you'll be fine.

  2. wtf is an arms test?i didnt do anything like that, just the duckwalk and other silly things

  3. Don't lose any sleep over the tests they give you at MEPS.  They try using psychological warfare on you before the tests, but it's all really easy.  I'm being serious about this too.  Have you ever heard of anyone failing a test at MEPS?  NO.....You haven't and it won't start with you.  They want you in the military, there not gonna flunk anyone out.  It's easy....trust me....you'll see.

  4. I have no idea what an arms test is, but the surest way to fail anything is to quit.

  5. The ARMS test is the Assessment of Recruit Motivation and Strength.

It allows a recruit with an above 'normal' Body Mass Index to process for the Army; typically up to 30% BMI for males, rather than the normal 24%.

It consists of 5 minutes of "up, up, down, down" stepping on a 16 inch step; at a cadence of 120 steps per minute.   Then you rest for a few minutes, do a few pushups, and your heart rate is measured.

The only people I know who have failed it quit half-way through.

As long as you keep pushing yourself, you will pass.

Typically, if you can run/jog a mile at a reasonable pace without stopping, you can pass the ARMS.

So, to answer your question, yes your recruiter is right.

  6. dude the arms test is too easy. its a couple push ups, a few situps, and you jsut gotta do this thing where you step on and off a stair for like 2 minutes without passing out. at least thats the arms test i took two yrs ago in san antonio. Have no fear... its tooooooo easy

  7. MEPS is just to make sure you are physiologically and medically capable of serving in the military without excessive cost or risk to the government.  You will fill out a form (the same form you fill out with your recruiter) about your medical history; you will take an eye exam; you will take a hearing test; you will have your blood drawn; you will pee in a cup; you will meet with a doctor, who will conduct a few examinations; then, you will go before a different doctor (with about 20 other guys) to show that you have the proper agility necessary for service by doing a few exercises.  That same doctor will look over the sheet you filled out, then you will be sworn in.
