  1. Unsalted butter

Any other light oil (grapeseed, canola etc.  As a last resort use olive oil, as long as it's not extra virgin.  Extra virgin is too strong a flavour)

    Shortening

    Margerine

    apple sauce

    mashed bananas

    Butter is your best bet.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Applesauce, about half the measurement.

  3. Melted butter.

  4. You can use an equivalent amount of unsalted melted butter, or pretty much any other oil, such as safflower, peanut, or canola.  I prefer the melted butter for the flavor or texture that it adds.  You can also use Crisco shortening as well.

  5. It depends on what you are making.  You may be able to use butter or vegetable shortening.

Vegetable oil is a whole range of oils, not just oils labeled "vegetable oil". If you have canola, safflower or any other mild oil you can use that.

  6. an equal amount of applesauce if a good substitute for oil in anything baked.

  7. Try melted butter - don't melt on high heat, use a low setting in the microwave.  Realize you will have a dish that is buttery and it may not work.  Do you have any other kind of oil?

  8. melted butter, melted vegetable shortening, applesauce, olive oil, or a combination of all of the above

  9. What are you making and how much oil does it call for. Olive oil will work in the biggest pinch. Add a little extra sugar.

Or melt some butter let the water settle to the bottom and just use the "clarified" part off the top.

  10. grape seed oil is very GOOD HEALTHY and cheap! @ all groceries and it's good substitute for cholestrol probs!
