Or about feeding them

Or about the problems you have with them

OR ABOUT ANYTHING?

I'm completely running out of ideas.

I've already done:

Vegetables,

Cutting up food

Choking on food

Food pyramid

So, really I need a new angle.

Thanks for any help you have to offer

  1. I work with 2-5 year olds and they are all very different. The list could go on and on. I would suggest you ring local nurseries & pre-schools and explain you're doing this article and ask if you'd be able to come in and observe the children. as long as you don't use any names & dob's in your article then it will be no problem. This will be a huge help to you and you can ask staff and parents you meet to help with your article. Also, if you say you will mention the settings name (if they'd like you to) as a sort of way of advertising i'm sure they'd like that!

  2. I would include info. about picky eaters. Also, that is good to establish a meal routine...same times, eating at the table with family, etc.

And introducing different foods to help expand his palate. (also foods that can help toddlers learn to feed themselves are great!)

  3. THE TERRIBLE TWO'S

That should be the title of the article. PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU USE IT.

Apparently when they hit 2, they just start tantrumming etc.

  4. You could focus on how to include the toddlers in the cooking process and give fun meal ideas that they could participate in. You could also discuss the developmental benefits of helping prepare food (ex. forming social bonds, spacial awareness, counting, quantity, cause and effect, creativity, self confidence). Giving tips on how to sneak extra veggies in different foods is always fun too. Such as shredding carrots into spaghetti sauce (kids will never know its there). Making spinach brownies (I promise kids will love 'em.) I hope some of these ideas help!

  5. You could put in that the ideal sized portion for any child or adult is the amount that will fit comfortably in the palm of their hand.

Many parent unknowingly overfeed their kiddies because they don't know what a correct sized portion should be.

My mother was told this by a health visitor.

  6. Here's an angle:  There is ample research to prove that the eating patterns established in the toddler years stay with a child for life.  Thus a child who is fed a healthy diet as a toddler is less likely to suffer from obesity, heart problems, diabetes, and cancers as an adult.  The article could focus on ways to help your toddler learn healthy food behaviors.

  7. One of the problems that I have with my 2 year old at the moment is that he will not drink milk. I have tried it warm, cold, as a milkshake, hot chocolate but he won't touch it! So I have spoke with my Health Visitor and all that I can do is make sure he has lots of cheese, yogurts, green veg, and add milk to meals.

  8. How about the link between diet/ additives and behavioural problems?

  9. i always say dont get annoyed at mealtimes even if your toddler wont eat as this makes them dread mealtimes so its a vicious circle just try and relax and if they dont eat offer them something healthy about an hour after the meal, eg yoghurt or toast but nothing much

  10. maybe you can visit http://www.learning-graph.com/recipes.ht... for tips on that.
