  1. Well, pretty much b/c (whether you actually do or not) you need to respect their rank...which includes their decisions and policies.

  2. do your own homework...

  3. without one keeping another in check, one or more could fall apart or take too much control

  4. those put in positions of command are put there due to the leadership and decision-making skills they've displayed throughout their careers.

therefore, you can trust that your "superiors" in the chain of command have thought very hard about their policies and must have good reason for deciding things the way they do.

blindly following commands can be disheartening, but just remember that the people who issue those commands aren't doing so arbitrarily.

even if you can't see the reason, someone up the chain certainly can, and you're following of their directions puts their well thought out plans into action.

  5. whats chains of command policies school rules or something

  6. Because:

    1) discipline is necessary to maintain order

    2) chain of command exists to ensure efficient and effective operations

    3) respect must be given in order for it to be earned

    4) respecting existing policies shows that you have enough self-discipline to follow commands, which displays good judgement

    5) disrespecting existing policies displays poor team-work skills and rebeliousness, neither of which are tolerated in the military

  7. start out with, i have a great respect for people who have earned their title and position.

  8. OMG! You shouldnt even have to ask that question if your CO or even NCO IC found out you asked that you would get the c**p beat out of you.

That essay you have to write is a no brainer. But since you obviously got into trouble for not respecting them, I can see where it could be hard for you.

    1. Discipline.

    2. RESPECT for you command.

    3. Trys to keep you out of trouble.(obviously didnt work)

  9. Read the oath of enlistment.

  10. Hmmm, sounds like someone got into trouble and got assigned an essay.  If that's true.... you were asked to do it to really think about this and figure out where you went wrong.  Suggest you start thinking!

Our previous 1st. Sgt. loved assigning essays instead of extra duty!
