I have told her !!!!!!?

Question

before my daughter was born he died in a car crash and i made a photo album of her dad a few days ago and i have wanted to tell her about him for ages as i now have a new husband and a son with this other man and i am now expecting my 3rd child with him to so i want my daughter to know who her dad is so gradually last night i told her she understanded most of it and she doesnt mind my new man as she still calls him dad i am going to take her to the grave we have bought some flowers a picture of her a statue of a teddy bear saying love you dad on it and a picture of me we are going there today to put everything there is it a good idea i am so glad i told her she did cry but she wants to go and i let her go through the photo album and i told her she reminds me of him i have now put a picture of him in a frame and it is going in her room i will give her his stuff later !!!!!!! is this a good plan or not =)

yes its a very good plan. I'm glad everything worked out and that she understood most of it.

You have done really good, you are a great mum, i don't know how old your daughter is but you gave this a lot of thought and you handled it really well.

Your daughter may over time want to ask you more questions and  want to know more about her dads family etc..

I completely agree with Daytime of the nighttime.

Your little girl will ask different questions when she is older.  Right now they will probably be very simple.  Keep the answers simple and sweet.  

I think us adults sometimes forget just how simple little kids are.  I find myself reading way too much into my kids' questions, and really all they wanted was a yes/no answer and have forgotten about the question by the time I come up with something...

I think you have an excellent plan.  Give those things to her when she is old enough to understand how important they are.  A picture of him will help her to think about him and ask more questions eventually.
