  1. Sorry, but I personally find this stupid. You could get arrested for that. You should bring it to a site where it can be recycled. Plus you get to benefit by earning probably one dollar per tire.

  2. First clean them up. Then make tire swings and sell them! Fish would not appreciate them like a kid would. Plus, it's probably really bad for the fish. It's pollution! You could get in trouble for that if anyone caught you.

  3. Wait a few years, they aren't going anywhere.   If things are as bad as we are being led to believe, they will probably be worth something for their oil content before too many years.

  4. NOT A SMART MOVE !!! ILLEGAL. There are uses for old tires throwing them in a pond is not one. You can build retaining walls buildings etc... find another way, please.

  5. Dumping tires in this way is illegal and you could face a hefty fine if you're caught.  It's a really stupid thing, dumping rubbish somewhere the public and our wildlife enjoys.  Perhaps we should all tip our kitchen waste in your backyard and see how you like it.

  6. Why would you do that ? You would ruin habitats not create them! And think about all the harmful chemicals on those tires! Thats a horrible idea!

  7. Find a tire burning power plant and sell them the tires. I know of one in Ticonderoga, NY. It can't be the only one.

  8. You should take these tires to the a dump or a place where they can be properly disposed of. Dumping them in a pond would drastically change the environment for anything living in it and cause a large amount of pollution. It is also most likely illegal to dump so much artificial waste in a public place. Also it is likely that these tires will float.

Short answer: the fish would not be happy.

  9. Tires contain various toxic materials that may not make them the best choice as hiding places for your fish.

If you aren't ready to drag them off somewhere, there are a couple things you can try. One, tires make interesting containers for growing potatoes, tomatoes, etc. Lots of people use tires for this.

Two, consider joining a local freecycle group and offer these for free. Someone else may want potatoes.:)

FYI, for some info on tires and recycling, check this site:

  10. Tires are good insulation material too, so you can use them to insulate your house walls and save energy on air conditioning.
