Question:

I have took my amaryllis bulb out the fridge.It looks a bit dry and flakey, when will it be ready to plant.

  1. Amaryllis doesn't have to be chilled, I have never chilled mine. It may be dead. Never mind the flakiness, does it feel solid and heavy? If it feels solid then plant it now, do not cover the whole bulb with dirt, leave it sticking up. Just a dribble of water to start. Once it starts showing green you can increase water (but too much early on will just rot the bulb).   If the bulb feels empty and light, it is dead.
