I have transferred my video from my camcorder to my PC but the file came out to be very big, it is MPEG format by using intevideo software, I wanted to reduce the size how can I do that, and I want it to be played on my stand alone DVD player ?

  1. Use a DVD authoring program like WinDVD to burn the DVD in your computer's DVD drive... If you just copy the file you cuurently have to the DVD the DVD player connected to your TV probably won't be able to deal with that file. The DVD authoring program will do the required compression and file conversion for you.

    If you want to upload the video to YouTube or MySpace (or other similar sites, you need to compress it... the result of this compression will be reduced video quality - that's why you want to burn the DVD with the best available quality (big file). The InterVideo software should have a Save As or Export function that allows you to save the video in a very compressed format - for uploading to YouTube or MySpace, you need to get to 100 meg or less. Do not use the compressed file to make your DVD...
