I am currently out of the country and I experience this problem only when I ring the fixed line and not the mobile number. WHat can I do about this situation?

  1. not being home, there is little that you can do about this...

there is a small possibility that someone was aware of you going to be out of the country for a long period of time, however that is the least likely situation..

your line may have been forwarded perhaps inadvertently, and the only way to check that would be to dial 73# or *73 from your phone...

the other and most likely cause, is that there is a cross, or a bridge tap (multi) that needs to be cut, which would require you calling your local phone repair department for a HOOL (hears others on line) trouble.... perhaps you have someone you can call that can provide the telephone company access to where they need to get to at your home to test the line and make the repairs..

  2. Well, I would make sure you are dialing the proper 'country code'. They can vary from some countries. Normally, it would be 001-1-your area code-your number. Ask when you call, where these 'other' people are located. In the state where I live, you get a different person if you dial a '1' first....?? It's not a perfect science calling from other countries yet..
