Do not convert your money, at least all of it to us currency for the fact that US currency is not backed by a gold standard anymore, so really in the long run especially dealing with different countries our money can easily decrease in its value and leave you in a rut. Keep your money if you are going to 'save' it in the form of gold (Gold still runs the world and doesnt lose value) or at the very least keep it at a place where the currency is backed by gold.

-Do not sale your gold, though few people know gold is the only mineral in the last 200+ years that has never lost its value and is seen as currency in every country.
