Okay so, this is a weird question... but I really want to know what's going on. I am 13 years old and I've never cared about cleaning my room. I have always needed someone to tell me "Kylie, clean your room!!!" or to get in trouble to finally decide okay, I'll clean my room. Even when I cleaned it then, I never really was very thorough, I just made it so I could see the floor. LOL. Okay so recently, I've been like cleaning my room like a maniac. Over the past 3 days I've cleaned &cleaned &CLEANED! I have like 6 bags of junk out in the garage that I took out of my room. Even though my room is absolutely spotless, I still feel like I should be cleaning!!! Please help me! I don't know..... why I've turned into such a neat freak!

  1. Have you seen some other really cool room or something and wanted to make yours better? Are you trying to distract yourself from something intimidating in your life?

Or maybe you're just maturing. Don't worry, neat is much better than s****....

  2. My daughter turned into a neat freak at around the same age and she is now 33 and still cleaning. Luckily, she married someone who is also a neat freak.

  3. Is School stircter next year? I ALWAYS Get freaked out before school starts! I Start cleaning and doind REALLy HARD Stuff ( And crazy!) I CLEANED MY CLOSET. I Just think im preparing my self for the worst.

  4. in fact i'm kind of like you

you know adrian monk from the TV show

    i'm like him

it's like a good disease that you make everything arounf you so clean

but if that wasn't good enough for you i will tell you what to do

you clear the room and i mean totally clear it

and get rid of the things you don't like

and buy new more stuff like lamps, posters, etc

then you rearrenge it as you like

you will fell so much better

i used this way and got TV and gem stuff and now i just love my room

  5. No need to worry, you're growing up! -maturing.  Bet your Mom is a happy lady!  Welcome to our world!!!

  6. Nothing wrong with wanting things tidy unless you become obsessed with it. At 13, I'm guessing a lot of the things you're bagging up are the things you've outgrown.  I can remember bagging up all the Barbies, dolls, and "kid" things between 12 and 13 and giving them to younger cousins. My oldest daughter did the same thing around those ages. Your room is just reflecting the changes you experience as you put away childish things and move towards adulthood.

  7. Are you trying to avoid anything? Is there a tough situation which you don't want to tackle? Are you pregnant (nesting syndrome)?

  8. It's cool to be a neat freak as long as it doesn't get in the way of you living your life...i.e....you spend so much time cleaning that you negelct school work or something else important.  I think I first started becoming aware of the need to clean around that age...
