  1. center mount skis are sick!

  2. Ultimately it depends on if you have the clearance to do it. You can remount the bindings further forward as long as the prior holes that were drilled will not interfere with the new holes that would be necessary to mount the bindings further forward. Skis in general can be remounted up to three times with out damaging the integrity of the ski.

Take the skis to your local ski shop and have them remounted but be sure to specify where exactly you want them mounted.

  3. Check the binding mount position by placing your boot in the binding, then verify the sole mount mark with the ski balance mark. These should be a couple of small marks that are used to align the mid point of your boot sole with the balance point on the ski. The boot mark is usually at mid point and is molded in to the sole. It is on the big toe side of the boot. The mark on the ski may be on the side or on the top, and may be covered by the bindings.  Ask at your ski shop for the information. The bindings can usually be moved up to 3 times with no adverse problems.  Ask the shop why they were mounted the way they were. A mount to the rear of center gives more stability at speed, but less turning quickness.  The balance point on the ski is not the center of the ski.  It does vary from brand and type.  Good luck.
