I have two 8inch JL w7 subs sealed in a box. What amp would go good with it?

I had tried the speakers with 1000 watt (i think thats the watt) JL amp and a phoenix amp but it doesn't sound good with it. ALso is Kicker Solo Barics better? Or should I stick with my old one.

It all depends on how many ohms the sub's have but I would recommend a Soundstream XTA1050 its a powerful amp that could power both w7's and its not too expensive. I ran two 10" kicker L7's and they hit hard

In reality, the amp really should not be making the speakers sound bad.  I would highly suggest building a new enclosure for your sub woofers before you go spending much more money on a new amplifier that will not correct the problem.  Also, I would check the amplifier settings too, see where your cross over point is at and what the gain is set on.
