How do I figure out which one it is? Liek is there something I can feed one of them that will change the colour of their p**p (but not hurt them in any way) so I know which on keeps doing it? And do you know why it might keep pooping on the floor instead of the litter box? It usually poops by the litter box or in the room beside the one with the litter box, but not often in it. It used to go in the litter box, what's going on?

  1. when i got my two cats one of them was doing that.

and we had to put the litter box in the bathroom, with only one cat. and then we knew which cat it was. but then she still didnt go in the box so we put aluminum foil around everywhere so they could only go in the box cause they dont like foil. and it could have something to do with the litter itself. cause my cat that was pooping on the floor didnt like scented cat litter.

    good luck. :]

  2. i dont like cats so just beaat dey *** , no im j/p but just train him & wen dey do p**p in da right spot reward dem && wen da other does good reward dem wit a treat so da poopy one can see dat if he does good he can get a treat 2

  3. LIKE HUMANS.......CATS CAN GET UPSET IN THE GI TRACT........

A VET WILL BE ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT IS GOING ON........

    BLESSINGS TO YOUR KITTIES !!!!

  4. It may not like the type of san you are using.

The Box HAS TO BE COMPLETELY CLEAN... (just like you don't like to use a toilet that has poo in it..) the cat won't use a dirty box.

    try another type of sand..

start watching them and when they start looking around and smelling they are looking to a place to poo...

    good luck

  5. if it's a closed in litter box with a lid he might not feel comfortable going inside of it. If so remove the top half and see what happens. I had the same problem with a cat i had.. it turns out he just didn't like the enclosed litter box.

  6. i know its kinda mean but it works and you can always clean them off

when they p**p outside the litter box rub their nose in it and they will quit pooping in the wrong place trust me!

  7. My one cat does this when she is upset about something. Like if the other cat is bothering her, if we have left her too long, or if her box isn't clean. Try cleaning the box-meaning taking out the liner scrubbing out the box with baking soda and water. See if that helps. Some cats are fussier than others.

  8. First off, NEVER rub a cat's nose in its p**p. It won't understand why you are treating it like that and it will only aggravate the problem. Here are a couple of reasons why they could be refusing to use the litter box.

    1. The box is dirty or smells bad

    2. They do not like the hood or box itself

    3. You may need to get a litter box for each cat. sometimes they won't share

    4. The box is in a noisy or high-traffic area of the house. Cats like privacy too.

    5. Your cat has recently suffered some form of stress. Maybe a move to a new house, remodeling, addition of a new family member, etc.

    6. Your cat has some form of a digestive disorder and needs to be diagnosed by the vet.

    7. Your cat suffered one or all of the above which caused it to misbehave. Now it is attracted to the scent of its previous misbehavior and continues to soil the house. If this is the case, get a pet deodorizer from a pet store and clean the area. This should prevent repeats.

  9. Kristin, I have two cats. I have had to buy a second litter box. When they were young, they both used the same box, but as they got older, they were misbehaving, as one of your cats is.

The second box is placed in the back bathroom, along side the first box. They use their own box and all is well now.

It is a little inconvenient having the two boxes...having to clean and maintain both, but the results were instant.

My cats are loving and affectionate towards my husband and me, but very independant of each other and obviously don't want to share the one litter box.  Now all is well and we are all happy.

Good Luck, hope this might help you.

  10. it could mean that the litter box smells... my cat's do that when the litter box is dirty or if it stinks really bad.....   sooooo... if you go to the store in the pet section you can get baking soda just for litter boxes... that will make it smell nice.... and you should keep it clean....

    hope this help's

  11. It is hard to tell which cat is the culprit, I know this for a fact, as I have 2 cats and 1 poops on the floor too. The best thing to do is to make sure you have 2 litter boxes- 1 for each cat- in different rooms... That way, each cat may have a box. I would put one box in the bathroom with one cat and another box in another room with the other cat. That is an easy way to see who is the one pooping outside the box. Once you do find out who it is, then maybe you will want to take them to the vet to see if there is an Intestinal problem... I found out that my kitty, the one who was pooping everywhere, had an internal parasite from when she was at the pound... They can give you medicine for that and the kitty will hopefully start using the box...
