Both have college degrees( nurse and teacher). Why is it so hard for them to be able to come to the States? Are there any tips on acquiring a visa? Any way to beat the system?

  1. The easiest way to come, and it's not a walk in the park, is to marry a US citizen. Any of them female?

  2. The nurse should have very good luck getting a 2 year non-immigrant work visa to come to the US.

Many hospitals sponsor nurses. Have her look online for a sponsoring hospital. That process usually takes 9 months, and she can apply for an immigrant visa after she has worked in the US for a while.

  3. They need to apply for immigration through the U.S. embassy like everyone else.  Millions of people in the world, and nearly EVERYONE in the Philippines wants to move to the U.S.  Some nationalities have a record of "trying to beat the system" and violating their visas.  Sorry to say , but Filipinos are high on that list.  This makes it even harder for honest people.  If they are honest, educated, professional people, they need to apply properly.

  4. The easiest way is to petition them to be immigrants to the States.  If they will apply on their own chances are the US Consulate will deny them VISA for fear your cousin would not return home.  US being in constant treat with Terrorists and being out flanked in terms of jobs is weary that US Citizens would loose jobs to foreigners.  And that jobless immigrants would just take advantage with the Healthcare and Dole outs of the governments.

If your family would be able to support them, then just process their petition.

  5. You can actually help them....call the HR of your nearest hospital and inquire about nursing jobs and tell them about your cousins situation.  They usually have agents they work with in the Philippines and regarding your other cousin, the teacher...I hv a good friend that teaches special education in Maryland.  I hv no idea w/c agent she worked with to get here but supposedly, the department of Education in Maryland recruits teachers in the Philippines.  Look up Dept. of Ed. in Maryland and find out about job opportunities for her.  Look it'll only take maybe an hour finding these stuff out for your cousins BUT it'll help them for a lifetime.  Think about it.

  6. Along with about 50 million other Filipinos.  You can't beat the system.  If you study a little history of the philippines and USA relationship over the past 50 or so years it should become painfully obvious why the cold shoulder towards Filipinos.  Your outspoken, anti-American politicians aren't helping your cause much either.

  7. The easiest way to enter the US is through Mexico.

Unfortunately, we have a quota system for each country that puts a limit on the number of visas.  Part of the reason is the large number of illegals and undocumented that enter our country.

It puts an unfair limit on the type of workers we need such as nurses and teachers.
