Question:

I have two engagement rings, which one should I wear?

My fiance gave me an engagement ring two years ago. It's a white gold princess solitaire, 1/3 carat. Recently, we found a great deal on wedding rings and immediately bought them- I got a marquis bridal set that I have been wanting for a long time. I showed some of my friends my new ring, and they keep saying I should start wearing the engagement ring part (probably because its bigger and looks nicer). I understand it is part of my ring that will represent my marriage, but I cherish my solitaire. It was the first piece of jewelry my fiance ever gave me, and the only piece that I still have. What's your opinion on which one I should wear? The bridal set is something I wanted and I picked out, the solitaire my fiance got all on his own which makes it a little more special although he says he wouldn't mind if I wore the new ring (I think he says that because he has an engagement ring too and his wedding ring is of much better quality and he wants to start wearing it now.)

Thank You!

  1. I would wear the ring he chose for you two years ago. That's the one he chose and gave with all his heart.

Why in the world didn't you get a matching wedding band for that? What you did just doesn't make sense....

  2. Well I would want to wear the first because that's the engagement ring but if the new band wont match or fit after the wedding that's tough.  you can always wear the first on your right hand and call it a promise Ring and wear the new as the engagement ring.

  3. Switch between the two of them. Wow, if such a trivial matter becomes

such a problem, good luck in your marriage.

  4. Use the bridal set as your wedding ring, that way you don't have to try to find a new band for the first ring. You can wear the first ring on a necklace around your neck or on your other hand.

  5. I would say wear the first one now, till you get married, because really that is the 'engagement' ring - the one he picked out and proposed to you with. Then when you are married, change to the other one because it is a set and will look better together. Once you have swapped, wear the other one on your other hand or wear it on a necklace, so as to keep it close to your heart and to always wear it :) :)

  6. Were one on each hand.  The bridal set on the left and the first engagement ring on the right!

  7. wear both you have two ring fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  8. you can definitely wear both! and on the same finger! who cares if it doesn't match? it'll be a conversation starter and you'll be able to share the wonderful story of your engagement.

oor wear the set on your left hand and the original ring on your right hand.

  10. Why don't you wear the new engagement ring on your engagement ring finger and wear the old engagement ring on your other hand.  Maybe that could be a ring you pass down to one of your kids.  Or you could have a jeweler turn it into a necklace.

  11. can you turn the solitare into a necklace? take it to a jeweler. many can take the existing diamond and the gold and turn it into a necklace for a minimal charge. Then you can wear both.

  12. Wear the solitare on your right ring finger and your new engagement ring on your left.

  13. It's completely up to you. Wear whichever one you prefer. You can even switch the rings every few days - you don't have to wear the same one all the time. Or you can size your old engagement ring to fit your right hand, this way you'll be able to wear it while wearing the new set on the left.
