I don't have a nesting box or anything I was just wondering if it sould still happen. They rub up against each other with their necks sometimes and sit together on the perch. So could it happen ?

  1. If they are the same species they can.  Make sure, though, that before you breed any animal, you do a LOT of research on it, make sure you have the proper equipment as you need a lot more things, and special diet and it is far too extensive to just post it all here for you.  Also it is extremely important that before you plan on breeding animals, that you have homes or cages for the babies before breeding.  Most pet stores will NOT take animals from private breeders and the leading cause of homeless, abandoned, or sheltered animals is irresponsible breeding.

  2. Its completely possible. Although I have a male and a female and they've never had babies. My female layed an egg once, but it was empty.

Also you don't necessarily need a nesting box. If she gets pregnant and you don't provide her with one she'll make one. Right before my female laid the unfertilized egg she was basically emptying their food dish everytime I refilled it.. causing a pile on food on the bottom of their cage for a nest. Also I don't know if you've ever read up about nesting boxes but they're very unsanitary.

But yes, it is possible with a male and female. Always is with any same specie of animal.

  3. Yes, your parakeets can breed and lay fertile eggs. They'll even do it without a nesting box if they're really gripped by the urge to reproduce.
