  1. It depend on experience, as far as benefits most full time employee it them

  2. Aides make less than teachers, unless you mean public school aides and private preschool teachers. I think average private PK teacher's salary is $22-25 K a year. Private aides make minimum wage or a bit over.

Public school teachers will make more, but not always what teachers of older kids make. Sometimes they're only hired for half a day so it's good money for part-time, but still half or less than full-time.

Public school teachers, benefits--yes, I think. For the other three possibilities, I wouldn't bet on it.

  3. I'm an assistant teacher in PA at $12.41, although I was previously making a little more but changed programs for job security.  You can usually improve your wages by getting some sort of credential like a degree or CDA, but I think that this is a field where you do your job because you love and want to help young children.  You might want to look into working for Head Start.  It's a very rewarding program to work for, emotionally, because Head Start REALLY helps children and families.

  4. In the public schools here in Tennessee, assistants get paid $12, 500 for the academic year (Aug to May). They work from 8 - 3 each day right alongside the teachers.
