I have two recycling questions - please help!?

1. How do I find a place in my area that will take plastic bottles, jugs, etc.

2. Do I need to clean these items out before taking them to the recycling center? I have laundry detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, etc.

Call your garbage company because they Usually handle recycling questions.

It is recommended that all bottles, cans and such be rinsed out before sending to the recyclers  but it is only sometimes required.

The garbage company should know all the details.

Hi!

Most cities have recycling centers so you might want to  check the city site first or make a phone call to city hall.  My city has bins for recyling that are picked up on an alternate day from the trash.  Some of the city colleges and universities  also have programs so you might want to check with them as well.

You can always go old school and search the phone book for the closest location to you.

Whether they want them clean or not depends on the location.  I generally give them a quick rinse.
