I have two routers one is a verizon router and the other is a linksys router how can i connect them wirlessly?

IS there any way to make them connect wirelessly because i want to have my xbox 360 upstairs and i dont want to run a line all they way through my house.

linksys model wrt54g (this is the one that needs to get connect to the verizon router)

What you can do is call Verizon and explain what you want to do.  They will actually walk you through the entire process and show you exactly what you need to click.  Least with their router, for your linksys you will need to configure it on your own (which isn't hard luckily).

Just give them a call and you will be good to go in 10 min,

Edit: Jon, I agree mostly with your post except for the fact that I have been through this route a hundred times with Verizon.  That's why my suggestion is to call their tech support and have them walk the user through it.  You do have to change a few settings in the verizon router.  Mainly to make it act as a bridge and do the PPoE authorization.

Routers are not really designed for what you want to do. I'm not sure if the Linksys will do this, but you can't hurt anything by trying.

First - make no changes to the Verizon router. It's working and we want it to stay that way.

You will need to get some information from the Verizon Router though. You will need the manual to see how to access the router. Either find the manual or download a copy.

What is the routers IP address? (in this example we will say it is 192.168.10.1) Find the real address and write it down

Make sure wireless is enabled on the router

If security is enabled, make sure you know the type of encryption and the password. If it is not, leave it unsecured for now,

What is the routers DHCP pool? (the range of addresses it assigns automatically. (in this example we'll say 192.168.10.100 to  150

Now, get out the manual for the Linksys router or download a copy. Then get an Ethernet cable.

Connect your computer to one of the LAN ports on the router using the cable

Use the manual to see how to access the setup pages on the Linksys router using your browser. Default is usually 192.168.1.1 for Linksys with a username/password of admin/admin

Now access the WAN set up

Set a fixed IP address for the router outside the DHCP pool for the Verizon Router (In this example 192.168.10.50)

In the LAN setup, turn the DHCP to OFF

In the wireless section, enable the wireless and match the encryption and password settings (if any)

With a little luck, you have created a wireless access point.

Save your settings and take the router up stairs. Hook it up and see if it works.

If it works, then make sure to enable security on both routers. Choose WPA encryption and use a strong password
