  1. haha... no.

  2. firstly if you have two subs that are 2000w rms then to power those two subs you should match them with an amp that is 4000 rms which would be a beast of an amp.

Always look at the rms output of the amp as this is a much better indicator. the max power would only occur for a second and would take much higher reserves of your battery power.

unless you have got some ultra high end equipment then i think that you are unlikely to have subs that are rated to 2000 w rms.

Subs rated to this level either have a strontium magnet the size of a football or a neodynyum magnet that is about half that size. also the surrounds on the cone are likelly to be at least 2 inchs so that the woofer has a long throw. if your woofers do not fit this brief then the specs are probaly made up.

If this is the case then what i would suggest is to get a reasonablt high wattage amp (800 rms) from a reputable brand. This should hopefully run the subs well if you match the gain of the amplifier well. Do not turn the gain (some people think this is a volume k**b) up to the max, simply turn the rest of your system up to the level that you normally listen to your music and then increase the gain until the sub can be heard clearly.

Don't be tempted to turn up up anymore as your likely to overheat the subs and mess up the voicecoil if you are listening for a long time. Having too much power is never an issue unless you start to increase the gain on the amplifier.

  3. theoretically you can go up to 4000 wrms, however, your charging system will never support that.  Anything over about 1,000 watts, depending on your vehicle and your factory alternator, can't happen.  You'll need to upgrade your alternator and wiring.

  4. max power means nothing....always go with the rms value.
