The pet store person said they were too young to tell if they are male or female. How do you tell? and they fight a lot what reasons are there for them to fight each other?

  1. When they get old enough, the ceres, or the area right above their beak where the nostrils are, will be blue for male, and pink for female.

They are most likely not fighting each other, but being playful. They will snap at each other's beaks and look almost like they are aggresively kissing, but they're having fun. They also will preen each other and make a lot of noise- all of this is normal. xD

  2. That myth (too young to tell gender) has recently been put to rest, although it is still constantly used around these boards.

    Lemme show you:

Young female budgie's cere's are a opaque color. They have a whitish wash in thier cere.

    Males have no opaque coloring

Now can you tell who's a boy and who's a girl?
