  1. Why don´t you ask your doctor?

You have to take care to prevent shock on your eyes.

Do not go down to get things on the floor.

Before opening the door , take care in order to prevent other people open it and it reaches your eyes.

Do not let children come to grab in an awkward way, they may injure your eyes.

When you sleep, your face should touch the pillow in the opposite side from the operated eye.

Do not cook nor deal with plants.

Clean gently your eyes with sterile saline in a cotton.

Take care if you have to clean steps.

Do not travel in buses because someone may reach your eyes with the elbows.

Take care in order not to slide in very clean floors.

Do not use any kind of drops unless those ones recommended by your ophthalmologist.

After surgery drops are prescribed so don´t forget to do it in the right time in the right period.

Avoid making s*x for at least one month.

  2. I am not an opthamologist, but I didn't do anything different. Just use common sense. After you have cataracts removed and  replacement lenses put in, you will never have cataracts again.

  3. My dad had both of his eyes done the best way to protect them is by wearing sun glasses when out side or near any light for about 2 weeks he did that to protect his eyes and that ended up a good result for him hope this answer was ok and good luck

  4. i'm not an ophtholmologist, so i won't try to answer; but i have some url you may want to check.

  5. I can appreciate what Ronaldo is trying to do for you, but basically he is telling you to stay home in a rocker and do NOTHING. I don't know where you are from, but generally after cataract surgery, the eye is patched over night and removed the next day at your post-op appointment. You should wear sun protection, for brightness and too help keep debris out of the eye. You should also have a one week follow up appointment and then after roughly 5 weeks from surgery, the doctor will refract you to see if you need glasses, which many do at least for reading. Surely at any one of these appointments you could ask what they recommend. Once you are beyond the usual healing time you don't have to live your life any differently than you did before. Get a nice pair of sunglasses, because you will be light sensitive for a while after surgery.

  6. Nothing really different than before the operations.

Eat a healthy diet including 5-10 servings of fruit and veggies daily, don't smoke, wear UV protective sunglasses when outdoors, use safety glasses when working.

  7. Dear ramaishji

I am not an ophthalmologist but have experience in treating after cataracts as a doctor. Cataracts are age related and virtually unavoidable unless they were caused by a non age related factor like- injury, gen illness, etc.

There is nothing you can do to protect your eyesight as such following this op.If you mean in the immediate post op period, then its same for any eye surgery. Avoid bright sunlight for sometime as the retina is sensitive due to the imfamamtion caused due to the op.Avoid infection by keeping the area clean. Wash hands with soap before handling the dressings etc. You now have a synthetic lens in your eyes that will do the jobof things inside the eye.

What you can do is preserve the health of your macula and the retina. And this can be done by avoiding general health complications of hypertension and diabetes which affect retina and lead to faiing sight. If you are lucky enough not to have these diseases then you just need to maintain a general good health. If you do suffer from either these then you will need to kee a strick control to a void retinal damage.
