I have until the end of the month to be out of my house

Question

My husband and i are renting, and the landlord has not been paying the mortgage and the bank is takin the house on Aug 31st. We found a new place already but i dont even know where to begin with moving! Its such a hassle and im worried i will forget to do somethin. any advice would be great

Your most important task would be to hunt down your land lord and give him a good SMACK!  I am very sorry that he/she did that to you moving can be a very daunting task. just go from room to room pack up everything in that room write on the boxes! that always helps.

when you feel overwhelmed take a breather, have a cool drink and a breath and then dig back into it its all you can do and remember nothing bad (like moving) lasts forever.

I just moved this past week and we got everything out in 3 days when we hadn't packed A SINGLE THING -- no worries... you have a little while, but start packing... get boxes and start tossing stuff into them -- I don't think organazation is the key here -- getting your stuff from one place to the next is key!!!

And you don't have to get a truck in advance, most UHAUL places will rent to you on THE day that you're moving.

Make a list. Make sure to reserve a rental truck way in advance! Just start getting boxes ready.  Get lots of newspaper and blankets and stuff for padding. A marker also for the boxes. Don't move anything you don't need into a new house.  

*Organization is everything unless you want a sloppy move.  If you don't request a truck in advance, you may end up with either  pickup truck or a van or a truck too big or too small...trust me on this...
