The procedures in the United Kingdom are very different to other countrys.

You can ask Bahrain to convert your licence to international licence.

Or go to RTO in India and ask for this info, may need to start over, but your best bet and quickest method will be to go to any driving school and ask them to handle your case, this way you will keep your Bahrain licence and get Indian driving licence possibly in one day.

RTO stands for "Regional Transport Office" there is one in Bombay and they are in other major cities also.
