  1. I have no idea about frosted flakes...

I think the only vegan bread at Subway is the white Italian bread.  The whole wheat has honey and I think all the rest have cheese.  Check their website; I think they have ingredient lists.  I recently heard that the sweet onion sauce is vegan but haven't confirmed it for myself.

  2. Read the label on the frosted flakes, as far as subway bread, you have to ask a boss, they get the bread pre-made, and frozen.

  3. yeah they are..

as long as they dont have milk, eggs, or anything that comes from an animal in them =]

  4. yes to both

  5. Frosted flakes have processed cane sugar - filtered and bleached through the bone marrow of animals.  Lots of junk food has this time of sugar, it is the cheapest compared to raw and natural granulated sugar. So no, if you really want to know, Frosted Flakes aren't vegan.

On the Subway website it clearly says that "there are no animal derived ingrediants" in some of their menu items, such as the bread.  Wrong again, there is a whey derived ingrediant from milk which is called monoglycerides.  Monoglycerides are used as dough conditioners, usually from milk but at times from wheat.  You may be thinking "but it clearly says theres no animal ingrediants..." You have to consider that most companies don't acknowledge the byproducts or subingrediants, as long as there's not "egg, meat, milk" they think it's okay.  Think about it..one of the main things about the philosophy of veganism..looks can be deceiving. Goodluck I hope you look into this more and make the right choices.

  6. frosted flakes are vegan, but they arent good for you. they contain genetically modifed sugars. so go for healthier cereals like oatmeal and shredded wheat. and no, subway bread isnt vegan. it contains traces of eggs.

  7. From http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/menunut...

"Do your breads contain animal products?

SUBWAY® Italian bread contains no animal-derived ingredients. The wheat bread and deli roll contain honey, which may be considered an animal-derived ingredient. The Parmesan Oregano and other cheese-topped breads do contain milk-derived ingredients.

What menu items at SUBWAY® restaurants are vegan/do not contain animal-derived ingredients?

The menu items that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients are the Veggie Delite® on Italian bread and the Veggie Delite® salad. Also these individual items also do not contain animal-derived ingredients: all vegetables, oil, vinegar, mustard, sweet onion sauce and Fruizle. The wheat bread and deli roll contain honey but no other animal-derived ingredients.

Do any of your breads contain milk/milk-derived ingredients?

Only the breads that contain a cheese topping like the Parmesan Oregano bread."

Some people may be bothered that employees use the same gloves to handle meat as well as other toppings.

Oh, and addressing V's concern above:

"What is the origin of sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate and the mono- and diglycerides found in the bread?

    These ingredients are plant-derived."

  8. yes, they are both vegan.
