I have verizon home phone service and i'm moving out of my current city?

I wanted to know if i can keep my current phone number and how i can find out if i can get FiOS in my area, if it helps, i'm moving to North Bergen, NJ.

Use this link to put in your address or verizon phone number to find out if FIOS is in your area yet. If it isn't it should be coming. Verizon is expanding as fast as the goverment will let them. In order to place FIOS is a location first they have to petition the public utilities commision for permission. Once the application has been made then public hearings will be scheduled where anybody can come and say why or why not they should be granted the licence. That is the hardest part, because in most areas the other video providers oppose the granting of the licence. Once a licence has been granted then the main fiber lines have to be placed as well as the distribution frames have to be built in the central offices before it can be offered to the public. Basically it just boils down to politics as usual

You can check on fios status on verizon's fios website. You can keep your number if youre moving or if you gonna use a different phone company.
