I have a half brother out in the world somewhere that I would love to find but I dont know if i have enough info. We have the same father but he died 15 years ago when I was 6. I know the birth mothers name and I know his date of birth and that he was put up for adoption at birth. I have spoken to the mohter a couple years ago and she didnt tell me much excpet his birthday and that she hadnt contacted him nor was she planning on it. I was an only child growing up and I would love to know my big brother. Do you think it is possible, or do I not have enough info

  1. Have you looked on the yahoo adoption group site? There are many volunteers out there that can help. First gather as much info as you can and write it all down. I found a brother whom I never had met in over 50 yrs but with the luck of some great people I found him so yes it is possible.

  2. I would suggest that if you know the area he lives in just do it the old fashion way and go to the phone book first. Try to find any other realatives that may know where he is. I will tell you from my own experience that word of mouth is the best method to send a message you are looking for him. I did this myself looking for my sister and birthfamily and unfortunately hurricane katrina inhibited all my search efforts and all paper records were destroyed. But one day out of the blue i got a letter from her and we have been close ever since. You should be prepared that this could be one sided and you may find yourself disappointed, but it could also be just the opposite and he may be looking for you as well! I wouldn't suggest using any of the internet sites bc I couldnt find any information at all that helped me. If you have any other ? feel free to ask! Good luck!

  3. the only way you should attempt this is by contacting the adoption agency. his birth mother will know the info for that if you don't. let them know who you are looking for. if him and or his adopted family wants contact they will let you know. keep in mind this desire to meet can be one sided.

have you tried putting his info into zabasearch.com?

  4. Do you know where he was born, or where he went to school? What state and city he lives or lived in, if he has a family? Those things can help, what kind of job he does, Hire a investagator. Good Luck sweety, How old are you and he? best Wishes, so far so good get a lil more info if u can and write everything down, do u have any pics of him when he was a baby?

  5. I had no info other than the adoption agency and date of birth.  I found both birth parents in a closed adoption state.  Where there is a will, there is a way.  Best of luck.

  6. all you need is a name a birth date and then just go on familytree.com and you can probaly find

  7. you could probably get alot of info on the net with his birth date, but it would help to have his birth name and check that with public records! OR if you're real detemined to find him, call Maury Povich show, they do alot of reuniting!

  8. I think that is good info..

  9. hey i would love to help you but if you send any question to this email address this person answers anything:

            ask_it_n_name_it@yahoo.com

it really helps!and the good thing is that if you send it one day then you get your respond in one day back or less. The only time you don't get it back within 1 day then whoever this person is they hadn't had excess 2 an computer!try with any question!

  10. Possibly, depending on the state that he was adopted in.  A few states (CA, TX, NC, OH, KY, MN) have the birth indexes avail. online or many searchers have the indexes in archive's.  These indexes many times show the pre-and post adoption records that can be searched by date.

Search and post info on as many adoption registries you can find online as well.

    Good luck
