I have vista,I installed Avast antivirus. Should I install any more s/w to make my laptop virus free?

if u've installed Avast Home Edition , then you need to install some other softwares to remove spyware/etc for more protection like spybot search and destroy . its free to use and updates are easily available .

or else install Avast Professional or Kaspersky / Nod32 .

Avast Pro is also good but it fails to detect some virus and spywares .

kaspersky and nod32 are the best softwares and you dont need to install any other softwares for protection .

use another antispyware - download at http://www.superantispyware.com/

they don't conflict with each other.

1 antivirus and 1 antispyware will be okay for 1 PC.

Remember: No 2 antivirus on 1 PC.

Both are totally free too.Threatfire is an anti-virus made specifically to run alongside another anti-virus.I use it and avast together and nothing has ever gotten both of them running together.

While Avast does have an anti-spyware component, it's anti-spyware capabilities are fairly new and untested.

I suggest a regular scan with a dedicated anti-spyware.
