  1. You should take a class or clinic so you can get some help.  If you've never played before, that's a problem.  If they ask you to pass it back and forth and you don't know how, that might be embarassing.  I strongly suggest you taking lessons if you haven't.  If you have played b4, they'll probably just watch as you spike it, pass it, and set it!  They'll see how good your skills are and place you on the best team for you or decide not to put u on a team.  When I tried out almost 2 years ago, they basically had us do (things like when they toss it and you spike it over) drills and serve it.  Even if you have played, taking lessons will help!  Practice makes perfect!  Don't just read ppl explaining what a spike is and how to do it, actually go out there and do it!  Have someone teach u in person.  For tryouts, you should bring what you'd bring to any volleyball practice.  Bring water and any forms you might need.  Wear volleyball kneepads, volleyball shorts, athletic shoes, a ponytail, and a t-shirt.  About what you should know how to do and for any questions, talk to the coach and ask!  Then you'll be waaaaay more prepared.  I've played b4, but not on a team either!  I'm trying out this fall too, I hope we both make it!  Good luck!  :)

  2. volleyball tryouts are usualy more relaxed than you might think. it isnt as intense as most people imagine, but you still have to work hard for it!  you need to be able to bump/pass the ball. you want it to be high, but not TOO hard and you want to have aim! you will also need to know how to serve. at my school, (i am in middle school) we have to know how to underhand...we learn overhands when we are in 8th grade. i dont know what your school does, but regardless, you need to have power, but good aim and form.  coaches look for your focus, commitment, and posture.

    you will want to bring:

    *kneepads

*clothes you would wear to workout (sofees and a tank/tee...lightweight!)

    *plenty of water bottles

*a good pair of sneakers and SOCKS!!! you should really wear socks.

*something to hold your hair back.

good luck! email me if you need any more help!!♥

  3. I was on my volleyball team last year in 7th grade.

You need to know how to:

Serve (preferably over and underhand, depends on your age)

Bump (hit the ball back over the net successfully

Bump in a circle (Hit a ball back in forth in a circle of about 4 or 5)

Spike *optional* (this depends on how old you are too, I was a starter last year and I never spiked)

    You should bring:

Kneepads (so when you dive your knees will still be in tact)

Gym Uniform (we had to, if you don't want to bring that bring work out clothes)

    Gym Shoes (kind of obvious)

  4. bring water and kneepads

  5. first of all

    good luck.

Volleyball teams are amazing (ive been on my schools team for 2 years now)

dont expect a lot. just try your best. and if you mess up on something, just go along with it, the coach might not even notice. :)

make sure you know how to-

serve the ball over the net (overhand might probably give you an advantage, but underhand is fine too)

bump the ball (over the net, and in a specific direction, and in a bump circle with 4 or 5 people)

set the ball (this really depends on which position you play, but setting gives you an advantage. when you set, make sure the ball goes high [not like celing high though, just above the net])

be a good sport (people with bitchy attitudes get annoying, fast)

    Bring-

    gym shoes

    a pe uniform

knee pads (cant tell you how scarred up my knees get during volleyballl season whenever i forget them)

    a water bottle
