I have waited 12 weeks for my 1040X and still no check and it is holding up my stimulus anyone else?

Amended returns take about 8-12 weeks to process, so perhaps it's time to check on its status.  According to the IRS:

How can I check the status of my amended return?

You will need to contact our assistance line at [phone] to receive information on the processing of your amended return. Amended/corrected returns are processed as quickly as possible. However, it could take 8 to 12 weeks to process an amended return.

The IRS is taking the full 12 weeks this year.

Any stimulus check will be delayed until after the 1040X is processed.

The IRS logs in the 1040x, but it does not log in whether it is a balance due or a refund.  Since it *could* be a balance due, the IRS will not release the stimulus refund until the 1040X has completed processing.

they probably don't even start working on amended returns until after April 15th, you might have another 6 wks of waiting or longer
