come down with lung ailments,cancers and have said the government will not assist them financially.So to this day has the govt financially helped these heroes or are they still denying them benefits?If still being denied what is the reason the govt is doing this to these brave people?Doesn't the govt give aid to illegal alliens through welfare etc.?

Well, shortly after the events, the EPA said that the air was okay, and there should be no problems.  This was not the case, obviously.  So, some workers got the benefits to help, but some did not.  Some were told that the reasons for their health problems could not be determined--and therefore it is not the government's responsibility to take care of it.   Many of the workers affected are still fighting in court.  Very sad, I agree.
