I have wild violets growing in my yard but how can I get rid of them?

  1. I have them too, and they spread like weeds.  They are very easy to pull, roots and all.  It is hard to keep a head of them for sure, but I must admit I do leave some behind as I would rather see them than some of the weeds that can take over.  I would pull or cut the ones that have spread into the lawn and are trying to take over.  The ones that are sort of back out of the way, I will leave and will enjoy them in the spring when they bloom.  If  you are on a witch hunt and want them permanently gone, you could always spray them with any broad leaf weed killer.  


  2. If you do not spray your lawn; violet flowers and young leaves are beautiful and tasty for homemade organic salads. Happy digging!
