  1. AS your computer got xp home edition as primary os & then it got corrupted somehow it looks that u installed xp pro. without formatting the drive in which xp home was previously installed. It look likes u installed xp pro using option "leave system files". If not try formatting the drive in which home edition is there & installing a new OS in that drive of your choice . must solve ur problem

  2. f you still have the xp pro cd your in luck, you can probably wipe your C drive (format) and perform a claean installation, its straight forward and herez a tutorial:

    http://helpdesk.its.uiowa.edu/windows/in...

but remeber to BACKUP your computers PERSONAL files onto an external device i.e. USB pen or a couple of CD/DVDs , once done u can put your files bk to the computer , you cant bk up Programmes so u may wanna find the cds that belong to them i.e. Microsoft Office or the broadband installation

lastly, Many PC companies such as Dell, Gateway, and HP will include a "Driver Installation CD" with the computer. Simply insert the CD AFTER THE FORMATTING and follow the instructions, but if they dont exist the drivers are already installed

i would advise not to listen to coolnetdude as that wont uninstall xp home it would just not make it show up!!!

  3. Your computer has a corruption virus. Back up necessary files to disk, reformat your drive (should erase the corrupted files) & reload Win XP Pro from disk. And for heavens' sake, GET A FIREWALL & SECURITY SUITE W/ANTIVIRUS! I use the ZoneAlarm Pro Suite.

  4. the answer is easy

    get vista home premium

the 2nd best OS after ultimate

  5. Right click My Computer and choose properties, then pick the advanced tab, then choose the settings button under Startup and Recovery, then click Edit.  Save a backup of this file, just in case.  You should see two entries under Operating Systems, delete the whole line that has Windows XP Home, exit and save.  Reboot and it should just boot without any options.
