I have woodworm in my attic and floor boards and today I found a beetle downstairs and holes in door frames esp in the kitchen I reported woodworm to the housing association over twelve months ago and nothing has been done and I keep getting fobbed off.

MY QUESTIONS ARE

(1) Does the whole house need treating the council says it does not

(2) is treating the house a big job and what does it involve

(3) Is it possible my furnitue has woodworm

(4) what would be my next course of action as council do not want to know and keep stalling me.

  1. they will probably replace the wood if its the floor boards and just treat it so it doesn't spread.

  2. You do not need to 'treat' for woodworm. They cannot survive where the atmosphere is too dry. All one needs to do is ventilate the damp areas.

  3. get in touch with your local councils environmental department, they will advise you.

  4. Ring up the council and they will advise you, and possibly make sure that people attend to this matter for you

  5. i h ave one too
