  1. Only if you are 62 or disabled?

  2. Are you 62?

    If not...No.

I also have been in the workforce for 20 years now and I have 20 to go..........

  3. look for the social security administration web site.  they will have information - I have heard they have a benefits calculator that you can use to see if you can retire, and what your benefits would be.

  4. If you are of age or have a huge savings to balance you out - congrats!

  5. You're better off talking to someone in your HR department. Your question is very vague. How old are you and what state do you live in?

  6. If you're in that 6x age bracket...

    Otherwise this link might help:

  7. good for you.

  8. You can retire early if you have some money saved up to live on, but you wont' receive any SS benefits until you turn 62.

But I have known some elderly people that continue to work because SS just isn't enough to live on.

  9. Yeah, right. Good luck with that.

  10. Depends entirely on your age and physical well being.  You can retire at age 62 whether you've one year or forty years.  The more years you've worked and paid SS the more you will receive.  However, if you do retire at age 62 you will receive less than you would if you retire on the date that is recommended for you birth year.  Take a look at the following website.  http://www.ssa.gov/retire2/agereduction....

  11. retirement age is 62. and it depends on how much you paid in SSI while you were working. If you are under 62, you have to be disabled.

  12. Unless you are disabled, you can't collect until you are 62.

  13. It depends on your age, not the number of years you have worked.
