I get right wrist pain for 3-5 days.

Then it goes away.

The pain comes back a month or so later.

Then I go through the same thing over and over again.

I went for X-rays.

They came out normal.

I need help finding out what it is because if I don't, nobody will.

  1. You may have tendonidis, which can come and go and causes, nagging wrist pain.

I believe that carpal tunnel would show up on x-ray, and usually is progressive, so it would be more likely to just get worse, not come and go.

    Just my opinion

  2. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.

  3. I have the same thing sometimes. Mine is wierd. It always happens when Im angry or sad or feeling really uncomfortable. My wrist and my hands start to hurt. i dono.

  4. Perhaps you're doing something to sprain the wrists?

  5. It might be caused by carpal tunnel syndrome. This pain can feel like a shooting pain and can be felt from the elbow all the way down to the finger tips, or anywhere in between. Everyone's experience is different. It can be felt as a shooting pain, a stabbing pain, throbbing, tingling, numbness, or a plain old ache that won't quit.

This kind of pain can be caused by many things. Most commonly it is caused by typing a lot and pregnancy. But any kind of stress or strain on the wrist can cause it, like tennis or golf, or even writing a lot with a pen or pencil.

Carpal Tunnel is very painful! One way to relieve the pain is ice. Use lots of ice wrapped in a cold damp towel and wrap it around your wrist. Then elevate your wrist above your heart. A lot of pain is caused by internal swelling of your wrist which is putting stress on ligaments, tendons, and nerves.

You should buy a wrist elevator for your keyboard to avoid bending your wrists when you type, and learn to type properly. You should try to type less often and take more frequent breaks from your computer. Learn to stretch your forearms and palms.

    Good Luck!!

  6. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful progressive condition caused by compression of a key nerve in the wrist.   It occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist.  Symptoms usually start gradually, with  pain, weakness, or numbness in the hand and wrist, radiating up the arm.  As symptoms worsen, people might feel tingling during the day, and decreased grip strength may make it difficult to form a fist, grasp small objects, or perform other manual tasks.  In some cases no direct cause of the syndrome can be identified.   Most likely the disorder is due to a congenital predisposition - the carpal tunnel is simply smaller in some people than in others.  However, the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome is especially common in those performing assembly line work.
