I have yahoo web messenger in addition to the yahoo messenger 8. I would like to uninstall the web messenger

but i am not sure how to do this. Can someone give me clear instructions as i am assuming this is done from the toolbar not the add/remove programs. thankyou

from >start>control panel>add or remove programs>delete all the yahoo.Shut down then reboot>download yahoo messenger 9,from yahoo,its very good.

The web messenger is exactly that - it's on the web. It isn't local on your PC. Yahoo! 8.1 you can remove by going into the Add/Remove programs section of your PC, but you won't find web messenger there.

If you have the Yahoo toolbar installed (I don't) I expect it would carry a link to the web messenger. To get rid of that, I expect you may have to remove the toolbar.

The web version is more of a convenience I think. To allow you to connect with your friends/family etc when you don't have the "normal" Yahoo software.
